All my products are handmade and therefore have signs of the loving care that went into creating each piece. They might not be perfectly round, or the handle might not be exactly in the same place from item to item. All this adds to their individuality to reflect my client's own individuality.
- I cast all my ceramic work in durable Stoneware.
- The RAKU process is an age-old Japanese technique to develop the colours on ceramic pieces.
- The pieces are fired in a gas kiln to temperatures of 950°C-1075°C.
- When the peak temperature is reached, the piece is removed from the kiln and placed in a metal drum with saw dust, shredded paper and then covered.
- The container is opened at intervals to allow the materials to flame up and develop the colours.
- Colours are very random and cannot be controlled, making each item individual.
- NOT Dishwasher safe.
